1200 plabaras!!! OMG!!!! CHACARRON MACCARRON!!!
Summary
I did not realize how truly brutal this war was. I can hardly explain my thoughts on it, it really makes me quite sick that human beings would do things like this. I can relate this time period to World War 1 and how the germans captured jewish people and put them in concentration camps. Reading through some of the victims stories really made me sad, I don’t know what it would be like to have someone in my life be arrested in front of my eyes and disappear, or even worse, be raped in the middle of public. I feel disgusted about this topic in particular, because people should not be acting like that to other people, it just is not right. During this “dirty” war, there were 30,000 people that just had vanished. That is equalivent to having half the population of Rapid City just, disappear. That is a ton of people. Looking at the page with all the pictures of the people that were victims of it makes me want to cry, because there are so many people that the page doesn’t even want to load. It’s pathetic. I would be interested in seeing the movie in the blog that I read. I’m sure it’s a good movie, I wonder if it is true. I did my victim on Juan de Dios Gomez. His story read this "At 6 pm. on August 10th 1976, a group of soldiers under the command of Lieutenant Flores went in a truck to the Santa Lucia sugar mill and arrested my son, who was working in the store there. They brought him to our home, where they threatened me and his father. They searched everywhere, then left with my son. We never heard anything more of him." I have a feeling that there were a lot of stories that went a lot like this. They took a lot of people for no reason. I read the tortured section on Dr. Candeloro. His wife was the one that put down the description, this is what it read. "The last time I heard my husband's voice was on 28 June. They always took him off first (to the torture chamber) and then me This time they did the opposite. In the middle of my interrogation they brought in my husband, telling him that if he wouldn't talk, they would kill me. They began to apply the electric shocks to me so that he could hear my cries, and he called out to me: 'My love, I love you. I never dreamt they would bring you in to this.' These words enraged them. The last phrase was cut short as they were applying the electric prod to him. They untied me and threw me into my cell. They were driven wild by him, his interrogation was unending. All at once there was a single piercing, heart-rending shriek. It still resounds in my ears. I will never be able to forget it. It was his last cry; and then suddenly there was silence. My husband died on 28 June, a victim of their tortures."
My thoughts
My thoughts on these happenings aren’t very good ones of course. I don’t exactly know what to think of it yet. I just don’t get why people would do this to other people for absolutely no reason. 30,000 people is a lot. That is half of Rapid City. If you think of it like that, then you realize how many people truly went. It reminds me a lot of World War II. Its along the same lines as putting Jews in Concentration Camps, except there were FAR more deaths in World War II than this cold war. I don’t even know where they would even get the right mind to do something like that, it is just sickening. There wasn’t too much that the families could really do about it though. I mean the best they could do was leave that general area but even then they would be leaving a ton of people behind to be killed, including their family friends and loved one. I don’t know what I would have done in the situation if I were the families. I would have absolutely no clue what was going on or what the world was coming to. On the flip side I don’t know how you could be for something like that. They didn’t even do anything to deserve to be treated like that, ya so what they were part of a government that people didn’t like, get over it, even if you don’t like the way your government is setup you just have to deal with it, you don’t rant on and kill 30,000 innocent people, that is not the way to get what you want at all! Those peoples ancestors should be ashamed to even have something to do with them. I feel sorry for all the families who lost a loved one down there. It seems like the world almost went evil around those times. A lot of bad things happened and there were a lot of wars back then. Im thankful that there have been no major wars taking place and that there hasn’t been any freakish man outbursts like these ones. I would absolutely hate for anything like this to happen to us, but anywhere around the world. Its definantly reaaaallly tragic. I don’t know how some people who have survived the holocaust even live with that type of memory still dangling over their head, I don’t think I would be able to survive after seeing something that tragic and that terrifying. I truly am blessed. And I am soooo thankful that nothing like this has happened to our country, because who knows where I would be to this day with something like that hitting our side of the world that hard. I cant understand why people just cant get over this stuff and come to the point that everyone is equal no matter what skin color, race, accent, religion, or anything, no matter what everyone is the same. On another thought, there hasn’t been anything like this happen for a long time. Im glad to see that things are starting to get better and that there are less and less Tragic happenings going on. I couldn’t be any happier with the way things have been going everywhere. But its accidents like these that will effect the future and could later cause all kinds of troubles. I hate to say it but, 20 years from now people could look back at this stuff and get angered by it, which could cause them to do something stupid and cause a huge outbreak and next thing you know it there is another war on our hands and more and more people start to die. People just need to be more self centered vand not care what others think and just need to do the right thing. And those are my thoughts on this terrible happening, I hope nothing like this ever happens again and I give everyone down there who had to deal with it my condolences. I don’t think this should have ever happened.Monday, February 14, 2011
